Rick & Cindy Stroud sat on the education committee for the 2011 Benefit Auction Summit held in Baltimore, MD. The committee spent a great deal of time reviewing submissions by potential presenters. There were many deserving submissions but only a few made it to Baltimore.
Sessions included presentations by top professionals inside and outside the auction/fund-raising industry. Bruce Marlin, SR. VP of Engineering for Mitek Industries presented on Audio equipment. Bruce provided significant information to the group on how to communicate to their clients the importance of having the right sound system. The ambient room noise with guests is 80 decibels. The room/area must be capable of 90-100 decibels in order for guests to hear the auctioneer and maximize the guests experience and profits for the organization.
Other sessions provided information on areas such as: How to work with the Media, Google Docs, Evernotes, Ignite Sessions, Generational Differences and How to Communicate & Work with their differences effectively. In addition the summit always includes a great ideas session where everyone has the opportunity to share great ideas and lessons learned.
The Summit is unique in that it focuses soley on Benefit Auctioneers. There is no other educational venue that brings seasoned professional fundraisers/auctioneers together to improve their skills and service for the non-profit world.
Rick and Cindy believe that continuing education and learning about cutting edge technology and techniques in fundraising give them the ability to support their client's needs to increase revenue. These ideas gained at the Summit allow Rick & Cindy to bring new revenue streams to their client's.

On December 6, 2010 the annual event, Children's Fun Auction, at the Scottish Rite Hospital was attended once again by the Texas Auctioneer's Association (TAA) Board of Directors and other Auctioneers in the state of Texas. Cindy Soltis-Stroud, Vice President of Blue Fox Benefit Auctions, attended the event for the first time.
Among the many responsibilities of the TAA Auctioneer Champion is performing as Auctioneer for the Children's Fun Auction. Trey Galloway, 2010 Auctioneer Champion, did a fantastic job selling to the children. It is believed that there was a record set for the highest bid ever in the event. One of the lucky winners bid a record breaking "Infinity & Beyond".
In addition, Texas Auction Academy presented a check to the Scottish Rite of over $12,000.00. A photo was taken with all instructors and graduates of Texas Auction Academy during the presentation. Cindy Soltis-Stroud is a 2008 graduate.
Cindy was very honored to be part of such an event representing the TAA and supporting the children of the Scottish Rite Hospital.
